3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup Sugar
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 eggs
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening or margarine
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons sugar
|
Directions:
1. Sift the flour then measure 3 cups flour
and pour into a medium sized mixing bowl.
2. Add the baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt to the flour, then set
aside.
3. In another mixing bowl add the sugar, shortening, and eggs. Using a
hand mixer or stand up mixer, blend on high about 1 minute or until creamy.
4. Add the dry ingredients into the creamy mixture and stir with a wooden
spoon.
5. In a small mixing bowl combine the cinnamon with 3 tablespoons sugar.
6. Scoop a little of the batter right into the cinnamon-sugar mixture,
and roll it with your fingertips until it is coated. Finish rolling the
dough in the palm of your hands.
7. Place snickerdoodles on an ungreased baking sheet.
8. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 8 minutes. Remove from oven
and let the cookies continue sitting on the baking sheet for about 4-5
minutes.
9. Remove snickerdoodles and place on a cooling rack. Yum!
